FAQ

Questions? We’ve got answers.

Everything new students ask before the first day of school. Still curious? Give the school office a call.

Getting started

Which class should my dog start in?

Puppies under 5 months start in Puppy Kindergarten. Most dogs 5 months and older start in Basic Manners. If your dog already has some training, take the placement quiz or book a free 20-minute placement visit.

Do I have to start at Puppy K?

Not at all. The level path is a guide, not a rule. Adult dogs often skip ahead after a placement visit.

How do I register?

Pick a term on the schedule and fill out the enrollment form. We confirm your spot and send a payment link within one business day.

In class

What training methods do you use?

We teach with rewards, play and clear, kind structure. Every skill is broken into small steps so dogs (and people) succeed quickly, then we gradually make it harder.

What should I bring?

A flat collar or harness, a 6-foot leash, a hungry dog, small soft treats, and your vaccine records on day one. We provide mats, practice sheets and a few extra treats.

Can my kids come?

Yes! Kids 8 and up are welcome to take a turn at the leash with an adult. Younger siblings are welcome to watch from the family bench.

What if my dog barks or gets overexcited?

Totally normal, especially in week one. Our rooms have visual barriers, and teachers will help you find the right distance. If a group setting isn’t a good fit yet, we’ll suggest a private lesson first.

Health & safety

Which vaccines are required?

Puppies need their first round of DHPP at least 7 days before class. Dogs 6 months and older need rabies, DHPP and Bordetella.

Is the schoolhouse clean and safe for puppies?

Yes. Floors are cleaned and disinfected between every class, and Puppy K uses its own room.

Do you allow intact dogs?

Intact dogs are welcome in all levels. Females in season should skip class that week and use a free make-up.

Policies

What if I miss a class?

Make it up free in another section of the same level during the term, or book a discounted 30-minute private catch-up.

What is your refund policy?

Full refund up to 7 days before the term starts. After that, you can transfer to a future term at no charge.

Do you guarantee results?

Dogs are learners, not appliances, so we don’t promise outcomes. We do promise a clear plan, great coaching and a free level transfer if your dog needs a different class.
