Your first visit,step by step.

Everything to know before your dog’s first groom with us: vaccines, what to expect, and the few policies that keep the day running on time.

  1. Request and upload

Book online, upload your dog’s vaccine record, and pay a $25 deposit that comes off the groom.

  2. Happy visit (optional)

A free 15 minutes to sniff around, eat treats and meet the dryer. Great for puppies and nervous dogs.

  3. Drop off and chat

Drop off between 7:30 and 10. We look at the coat together and agree on the cut and price.

  4. Ready text, pick-up

We text a photo when your dog is done. Pick up within an hour, and your bandana is on us.

Vaccines

What we need on file.

Every dog in the salon needs up-to-date vaccines. It keeps your dog, and every other dog on our tables, safe.

Required Rabies

Current rabies vaccine, as required by North Carolina law.

Required DHPP

Distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and parainfluenza. Puppies need at least their second round.

Recommended Bordetella

Kennel cough spreads easily anywhere dogs gather. We strongly recommend it.

Upload a photo of the record when you book, or email it to hello@thefluff.factory. Your vet can also send it directly.

Policies

The fine print, in plain words.

We keep this list short. Each rule is here so every dog gets an unhurried groom.

Matting

Comfort comes before length. Brushing out heavy mats hurts, so matted coats are shaved short (+$35). We’ll call before we start and show you the mats.

Late arrivals

Drop-off runs 7:30–10 am. If you’re more than 15 minutes past your time, we may need to rebook so the next dog isn’t rushed. A quick text helps.

Pick-up

Most grooms take 2–3 hours. Please pick up within an hour of your “ready” text. After that, it’s $10 per half hour.

Cancellations

Please give us 24 hours’ notice. A no-show is charged 50% of the service, and after two no-shows we ask for a deposit on future bookings.

Fleas

If we find fleas, we switch to a flea and tick shampoo ($15) and deep-clean the station. We’ll let you know so you can follow up with your vet.

Health & seniors

Tell us about lumps, sore joints, seizures or past stress. We’ll adjust the groom, and we’ll stop and call you if your dog seems unwell.

Before you come

A short checklist.

Take a potty walk

A quick walk before drop-off makes the bath more comfortable.

Bring a photo

A picture of the cut you like is worth a thousand words.

Keep your phone handy

We text if we have a question, and when your dog is ready.
