Questions,answered

Everything new members ask, from vaccines to trial entries. Still stuck? Call the front desk or book a free Tryout.

Getting started

Which sport should my dog start with?

Take the Find Your Dog's Sport quiz for a ranked match, or book a free 15-minute Tryout and a coach will watch your dog play and recommend a starting point.

What does my dog need to know before Level 1?

A basic sit, down and come when called around other dogs. If you're not sure, the free Tryout checks this in 15 minutes.

How old does my dog need to be?

Puppies can start low-impact sports (nose work, rally, barn hunt, Treibball) from 4–6 months. Jumping sports wait until about 12 months, and full jump heights until growth plates close, around 12–18 months.

Do you take mixed breeds?

Of course. Every sport we teach welcomes mixed breeds, and every trial we host accepts them.

Classes & levels

How do the four levels work?

Every sport uses the same ladder: Level 1 Foundations, Level 2 Skills, Level 3 Trial Prep and Level 4 Competition Team. Levels 1 to 3 run in 6-week sessions; Level 4 is ongoing and by coach invite.

Can I mix sports?

Yes, and we encourage it. Rookie members pick one class a week in any sport; Varsity gets two; All-Star is unlimited.

What if I miss a class?

Members can make up a missed class in any open spot at the same level within the session. Non-members can book an Open Practice hour instead.

Do classes include a warm-up?

Every class starts with a coached 5-minute warm-up and ends with a cool-down. It's the first rule of the All-Star playbook.

Memberships & pricing

Can I take classes without a membership?

Yes. A 6-week session in one sport is $189, and drop-in Open Practice is $30 an hour.

Is there a contract?

Memberships are month-to-month with 30 days' notice to cancel. You can pause for up to two months a year for injuries, new babies or travel.

Do you have a multi-dog discount?

A second dog on any membership is 40% off.

Trials & events

Can I come watch a trial?

Yes. Spectators are welcome at every trial and tournament, and parking and bleacher seats are free. Please leave non-competing dogs at home on trial days.

How do I enter a trial?

Each event page lists the entry method and opening date. Most use the sanctioning body's online entry system. Members get 10–15% off trial entries.

Do you need volunteers?

Always. Trial volunteers (ring crew, timers, scribes) get a free Open Practice hour for every half-day they work.

Facility & safety

What vaccinations do you require?

Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella, uploaded before your first visit. Puppies in Level 1 need their age-appropriate series.

Is the building climate controlled?

Yes. The whole building is heated and air-conditioned, the pool is heated year-round, and the turf is cleaned nightly.

Are the barn hunt rats safe?

Completely. They are pet rats who live in a ventilated rat room, ride in thick aerated tubes, and never touch a dog.
