Questions from camp families.

Enrollment

Does my dog need an evaluation?

Yes. Every new camper spends a free half day with us for First Day of Camp. It lets us see how your dog greets, plays and rests, so we can place them in the right cabin. You'll get a written Counselor Notes card at pick-up.

Which vaccines are required?

Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella (every six months). We strongly recommend the canine influenza vaccine. Vaccines need to be given at least 48 hours before your dog's first visit.

Do dogs need to be spayed or neutered?

Dogs over seven months old need to be spayed or neutered to join group play. Junior Campers under seven months are welcome.

Is there a minimum age?

Puppies can start at 14 weeks in our Junior Campers program, once they've had their first round of puppy vaccines plus Bordetella.

Life at camp

How do you decide which dogs play together?

By size and play style. Our four cabins are Chipmunks (small dogs), Foxes (medium, moderate play), Black Bears (big, bouncy players) and Owls (seniors and low-key dogs). Dogs can move cabins as they change.

What is Rest Hour?

Every day from 12:30 to 2:00, every camper rests on a raised cot with the lights low. Dogs need 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day, and a midday nap keeps the afternoon calm and happy.

What if my dog doesn't like swimming?

No problem at all. Lake Woofagong is optional, zero-entry and always supervised by a lifeguard counselor. Non-swimmers get sniff games or a sprinkler instead.

How do merit badges work?

Counselors award twelve badges for real skills and good camp habits. When your dog earns one, an embroidered patch goes home in their cubby, and it shows up on their monthly Camp Report Card.

Safety & health

What is your staff-to-dog ratio?

One counselor for every ten dogs, always, and smaller groups for Chipmunks, Owls and Junior Campers.

What happens if my dog gets hurt or sick?

Every counselor is trained in pet first aid, and our co-founder Jules is a certified vet tech. We'll call you right away and, if needed, take your dog to our partner vet two miles from Main Camp.

Can I watch my dog during the day?

Yes. Every camp family gets free Pupcam access, with live cameras in every hall and yard from 7:00am to 7:00pm.

Booking & payment

Do I need to book ahead?

For Day Camp, booking by 9:00pm the night before is ideal but not required. Overnight Camp should be booked as early as possible, especially for holidays.

Can I use one Camp Card for two dogs?

Yes. Camp Cards can be shared between dogs in the same family and work at all three camps. Each dog uses one punch per day.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancel Day Camp any time before 7:00am at no charge. Overnight Camp needs 72 hours' notice, or 7 days for holiday stays.
