Packing for Overnight Camp is simpler than packing for a kid's summer camp. Here's what to bring, and what to leave at home.
Please pack
- Your dog's regular food, pre-portioned in labeled bags
- Any medications, in original bottles
- A T-shirt or blanket that smells like home
- A flat collar or harness with ID tags
- Written feeding and medication notes
- Your emergency contact and vet details
Please leave at home
- Big beds (we provide cots and bedding)
- Bowls (we use ours and sanitize them daily)
- Rawhides and bones
- Squeaky toys that might start a squabble
The one thing every boarding dog should have: something that smells like you. An old T-shirt you've worn for a day is the best comfort item we know of, and we'll send it home with your dog.
Before you drop off
Book a day or two of Day Camp before a first overnight stay, so camp feels familiar. Then keep drop-off short and cheerful. Long goodbyes are harder on dogs than a quick, happy "see you soon."
